Therapy

The process of therapy includes a wide spectrum of practices that help people live more productive, healthier and happier lives. Therapy is also called counseling, psychotherapy or talk-therapy. The process involves meeting with a therapist, usually once per week.

Many types of therapists exist. Some of the more common ones include marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers and psychologists. Psychologists receive the highest level of education of all mental health care professionals.

Dr. Sinclair provides therapy for adolescents, adults and older adults.  During therapy, we will use tools from a variety of different psychological approaches, depending on your personal needs. We may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory & Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and others to create a framework for understanding your concerns and helping provide you the skills to better manage and decrease your stressors.
