About

About The Practice

Dr. Sinclair is both a Clinical and Health Psychologist, meaning, she works with clients with psychological and emotional problems as well as clients with medical conditions impacting their daily lives. Adults and adolescents are welcomed to the practice!

Dr. Sinclair also has extensive neuropsychology or "testing" experience. She performs evaluations for clients with learning challenges (i.e., ADHD) ; neurological disorders (i.e., dementias, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease); as well as issues attributed to acquired (i.e., tumor) and traumatic brain injuries.  These assessment findings help to guide educational plans at school, academic and work accommodations, as well as treatment plans for your neurologist or health care team.

Approach To Treatment

Dr. Sinclair's approach to treatment is tailored to the client. Because there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy Dr. Sinclair pulls from a variety of treatment approaches to guide care. For example, if working with a client struggling with relationship issues, then we may pull from a more emotionally-focused lens, meaning we will examine ways past childhood attachment issues may be presently impacting one's relationships and ability to trust.

On the other hand, if Dr. Sinclair is working with a client struggling with trauma and anxiety, we will likely pull from more evidence based trauma focused therapies. Evidenced based therapies are therapies that have been well researched and shown to be effective in helping clients with trauma histories, anxieties or acute and post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).

Last, Dr. Sinclair may opt to work with clients from a more cognitive behavioral (CBT) or acceptance and committed therapy (ACT) approach. Here, clients are taught ways in which their thoughts are impacting their behaviors, and ways in which these problematic behaviors are standing in the way of pursuing a more meaningful life. We will examine together your values and ways in which to achieve them.
