Confident Caregiver Academy

The Confident Caregiver Academy: Dementia Care Consultation

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be fraught with fear, exhaustion and confusion.  Often times patients and their families are given a diagnosis, sent home with a pamphlet (if they're lucky) and told to "go home and get their affairs in order". For many families this is a daunting task. Many errors are made as carers have no idea how or what to prepare. Nor do they know what to expect with the illness progression or how to best take care of themselves and their loved ones. Dr. Sinclair created The Confident Caregiver Academy to give carers a complete guide to dementia and self-care during this time.

Confident Caregiver Academy

The Confident Caregiver Academy is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to caregivers seeking to become dementia carepartners. This course covers an in-depth understanding of dementia, its various types, symptoms, and progression, as well as effective strategies to provide compassionate care and support to loved ones living with dementia.

Throughout this program, carepartners will learn how to create a supportive and enabling environment, effectively communicate with their loved ones with dementia, manage challenging behaviors, and ensure safety and dignity in their care. The curriculum incorporates evidence-based practices, research findings, and real-life case studies to enhance understanding and improve caregiving techniques.
